North Louisiana Blogs: From the Vatican to Amish Country to Andy's Back Yard

Pat has been sick and grouchy, but is getting back into the swing over at And So It Goes in Shreveport. I was taken this week with a link she posted on Twitter to pictures before Katrina. Check these out, you won’t regret it. They are amazing.
Darrell has posted an excellent article on his visit to Amish Country. It is very informative and interesting.
Andy, the #1 Bossier Parish Blogger is busy, well, being Andy. Go over there and check out his pictures of purple irises. The other Bossier blog is watching the political side of things, particularly the choice of a new police chief for Bossier City.
Rex at Conservative Drink is standing on the right side of things – not a bad place to be!
James H. at Opiniated Catholic is a prolific blogger. I check in there pretty often and always enjoy what he has to say.
Donna at Opining Online has much more important things to do than blog right now. She’s gone to Arizona to have a grandbaby! I’ll bet we’ll be seeing some pictures soon.
Wheeler is busy trying to keep us all intellectually honest over at the Norla Blog.
Chicken Fried Gourmet, as usual, is posting pictures and recipes that will make your mouth water.
I hope you guys are all keeping up with each other, as we have a wealth of information and opinions spinning around our North Louisiana blogsphere.

North Louisiana Blogosphere is Thriving

Sorry I haven't posted anything for a while. I feel guilty, and the best way to assuage that guilt is to get busy and start posting.
North Louisiana has too many great blogs and we need to let the world know.
I have updated the blog feed on the sidebar, and if I have forgotten anyone please let me know. During the next week I'll be reviewing some individual blogs, and will start doing that on a regular basis.
Happy Blogging!

Catching up

Sorry I haven’t posted anything on here, but we’ve been a little busy in Bossier for the last couple of weeks.
Speaking of Bossier, the people of the Haughton/Princeton area never fail to disappoint, as reported by The Norla Blog and As Seen in Shreveport.
The Opinionated Catholic has a story about two boys in Memphis who were burned in a house fire, one died and one is in critical condition. Read what their aunt had to say. You won’t believe this one.
As always, Pat is keeping us current on national politics, particularly an interesting race in New York’s 23rd House District.
There are plenty more good blog posts up this week, hit the blogs on the sidebar and catch up if you have missed them.

Battle of the Blogs in Central Louisiana

I am proud to say that despite very disparate views on the issues, I have never seen personal attacks and name calling among our Shreveport/Bossier blogs.
In Alexandria, however, a different situation has emerged. Ed Hooper, who publishes the blog wesawthat has been sued by Greg Aymond of Central La Politics. (Copy of the suit is here).
Greg and Ed Hooper (wesawthat) have been engaged in a war of words for quite a while. CenLamar has been peripherally involved, having been taken to task by both wesawthat and Central La Politics. It has been my impression that Lamar and Drew at CenLamar have taken a more reasoned and less inflamatory approach than either Aymond or Hooper; it is a ‘scorched earth’ policy between these two.
I link all of these blogs, as well as would-be peacemaker Alex Cenla's Rants & Ravings, and read them daily.
I hope they can somehow resolve their differences in an amicable manner.

Today's blogs

Chris Redford of KTBS has written a very moving blog post about Clay Barnard, the 13 year old who was killed while trying to save a little dog. If you haven’t read it yet, do so.
Opining Online is opining about the loony left meeting the deranged right.
The Opinionated Catholic has an opinion about the evil devious dirty Hawaii Football team coming to Louisiana Tech.
My Bossier is, as usual, keeping everyone up to date with the frolicking Haughton/Princeton trailer trash crowd. Today it’s a guy who claims he bit himself- on the face.
The Norla Blog has a good write-up about a local school principal who was arrested for DWI – after he threw a beer bottle out of his car and hit the Benton Police Chief’s personal vehicle.
North Louisiana bloggers are blogging every day – don’t miss out!
